The Humanitarian Service Medal needs to have the service stars to show multiple awards.
From AR 600-8-22:
e. A service star will be worn to denote direct participation in
second or subsequent humanitarian acts or operations. The approved
HSM operations are in appendix C. (Service stars are described in
chap 6.)
